Updated: Apr 16

April 2025

In the context of the EU-funded ADVANCE_VAC4PM mentorship programme to develop Africa future research leaders, the four early-career researchers appointed at Groupe de Recherche Action en Santé (GRAS, Burkina Faso), Foundation for Scientific Research (FORS, Benin), Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC, Ghana) and Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST, Malawi) attended the ‘Grant writing’ and ‘Grant management’ workshops organised by the EVI-led TRANSVAC Training Academy from 8 to 11 April 2025 in Accra, Ghana.

The training courses provided participants with practical tools, strategies and tips to excel in grant writing, design compelling proposals and successfully handle project reporting, compliance, and financial management.

These workshops were also a great opportunity for the four researchers to meet in person, discuss activities and progresses related to the ADVANCE_VAC4PM project as well as to expand their collaboration network with other international scientists and researchers.

The ADVANCE_VAC4PM mentorship programme represents an important effort to foster local scientific leadership and build sustainable research centres in Africa.
